Hello Parents-
As you look to register your child, please use the following recommendations regarding registering your player in the appropriate mite program.
6U "Mini Mites"
Mini Mites skate one day a week and on the weekends only for 50 minutes. We attempt to schedule these practices no earlier than 8 am. The Mini Mite program is designed to meet the needs of the first-time player. Our focus will be on skating fundamentals, small games and developing a love of the game.
8U "House Mites"
House Mites skate 2 times a week (1 during the week & 1 on the weekend). Please sign up for House Mites if your child has BASIC skating skills (the improvement in House Mites comes fast!), has played in Mini Mites or another learn to skate program and is ready to move up. There are no games scheduled but we will participate in a 1 or 2 hockey Jamborees which the kids love. Our focus at the House level will be on skating, basic hockey skills and starting to introduce the game.
8U "Cross Mites"
Cross Mites (also known as Travel or X-Mites) skate 3 times a week (2 Practices during the week and 1 game on the weekend). The program is for players who have a decent amount of hockey experience. Some games will require travel to local organizations. If your child is 7 or 8 and has played hockey in prior years, please sign up for Cross Mites.
Theses programs are designed to balance skill development, introducing the game of hockey, having fun and developing a love for the game. We utilize the ADM hockey philosophy which introduces skill development through small area games. This teaching methodology has proven very effective for skills but also maintaining the player’s interest in the game.
In order for a player to move up to 8U Travel, that player must be at least 6 years of age at the time of the request, and must have previously played at least one year at the 8U House level.

The 10U "Squirt" program is for players who are 9 and 10 years old.
CSB does not allow players to move up to 10U early.
